WHAAA! One of the best bands going right now hands down! John Dwyer’s Oh Sees have been much busier since the Coachwhips went the way of the wayward wind and that’s a good thing! The Oh Sees are a fine wine that was already great but improves and gets more popular every year and we’re stoked to have San Francisco’s finest back yet again. Golden Triangle, who just got home last night from a Canadian tour and a week in the studio with celebrity producer Chris Coady celebrate their return tonight. The Beets, requested by Mr. Dwyer himself, are one of this year’s latest buzzes and German Measles are a charming quartet featuring members of Cause Co-Motion and, an a last minute surprise addition courtesy of Mr. Blankdog himself, Mike Sniper, San Francisco’s Brilliant Colors will play a short set. Here’s the line-up (and don’t worry, they play after the Jay Reatard show gets out if ya wanna see both):
9pm: german measles
10pm: the beets
10:20pm: brilliant colors
11pm: golden triangle
12am: oh sees
djs between sets: mr jonathan toubin (early) and melissa scaduto (late)
afterparty 1am – 4am: beauty bar brooklyn – boogaloo shampoo soul dancing w/mr jonathan toubin!…
The Beauty Bar opens its latest outpost (yes, there are several) this weekend in beautiful Bushwick with a two night major blowout featuring some of the best local stars and rising newcomers. Each night kicks off with an hour of free vodka followed by live sets and DJing by the likes of Finger On the Pulse, Crooked Disco, Krames, Murdertronics, Dre Skull, Gordon Voidwell and more.
Big Shout to FreeNYC.net for keeping me in the loop.

I know this is a late post, but I stumble upon this art show, “Morning Breath and Cycle” opening reception tonight in Brooklyn. Here is little taste of the artists bio.

CYCLE received his BFA from George Washington University in Washington DC and then his Masters from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. He makes his living producing Fine Art, Illustration and Graphic Design. When not producing Fine Art, Illustration and Graphic Design, CYCLE enjoys graffiti and skateboarding.
