Desiree Godsell and Lia McPherson come together to present their adventures as transplants living in Brooklyn, New York. With Godsell hailing from Houston, Texas and McPherson from Detroit, Michigan their experiences in their respective birthplaces have shaped very unique viewpoints about life, arts and culture. And today just like many other young artist having moved to New York City in search of cultivating their artistry, their work is being shaped by Brooklyn and all of its eccentricities. A culmination of these experiences will be shared in ROAMING. (more…)

MIHicon would once again like to thank the more than 3,000 people that spent the beautiful summer day with us in Prospect Park on Sunday, July 19th. It was by far our largest HEATWAVE to date and we thank you for your continued support in making this the highlight event of the summer.
Now - help us keep HEATWAVE alive!
In response to the publicly noted backlash from this year’s HEATWAVE, we have worked with Prospect Park and its leadership to spearhead a community service day in conjunction with the already existing, “It’s My Park! Day.”
The scheduled date for this event is Saturday, October 24th, from 10am to 2pm.
We are looking for your help, as supporters of HEATWAVE and MIHicon, in getting together as many volunteers as possible to help make this event a huge success and also cement a working rapport with Prospect Park and the Prospect Park Alliance for future events and of course HEATWAVES.
Will there be a HEATWAVE10.0?
The success of this event will determine that – fate lies in our hands! If you are willing to volunteer to help keep our parks clean and the HEATWAVE tradition alive – Remember the wonderful tradition HEATWAVE has become…
From 10am to 2pm
Please come and support!

You would think folks NEVER ate barbecued food before in their life! Well get the napkins ready cause guess what? I know exactly when it’s going down. Yes, “Heatwave 9.0″ (the 9th one as you can see based on the title) will be (drum roll please…) Sunday, July 19th this year.
