Fire! New Play Festival is a theatre festival of plays in development produced by Freedom Train Productions.  After opening night’s performance of Sharon Bridgforth’s delta dandi, Fire! New Play Festival continues on 8/7 with a second delta dandi performance; when last we flew by Harrison David Rivers on 8/13 – 8/14; and While Submerged from All Sides… by Aurin Squire on 8/20 - 8/21.

The work collectively covers a spectrum of human struggle and culture. Sharon Bridgforth’s delta dandi is about a Black blues/Conjure woman musician traveling with a jazz band in the 1940’s at the height of the birth of modern jazz. Harrison Rivers’ intelligent and humorous new work explores color perception and privilege. And finally, Aurin Squire bravely presents a personal drama of overcoming sex addiction inside a sex-phobic U.S. society and within a sex-positive queer community.
